Hi,

I am building a site for Multnomah Cricket Club in Portland Oregon. Being based in the US the players are often asked to compare cricket and baseball. I am trying to compile a list of scores and records to show that more happens in a game of cricket than an entire season of baseball...

So, I am trying to find the following answers for these match-types:

ODI Tests 6's 20:20 25:25

And the questions are:

Higest individual score Highest team score Highest combined team scores

I understand that the 6's and 20:20 & 25:25 might be hard to find as it is typically club-level competition... but I have to ask...

Hello Simon,

Not the typical questions I usually recieve from my readers, but hopefully I'll satisfy you.. read on.

Highest individual score in test matches = 400 not out by Brain Lara of West Indies against England at Antigua recreation ground.

Highest test match score by a single team = 952 by Srilanka against India at Premadasa stadium in Colombo. Here's that scorecard.

Highest combined team score in test matches = 1981 runs for 35 wickets that fell. It was a no deadline test match between England & South Africa in 1938. and ended after 10 days when last ship back home was going. It was a draw.

Highest individual ODI (one day Internationals) score = 194 by Saeed Anwar of Pakistan against arch rival Indians at Bangalore. scorecard

Highest team score in ODIs = 434 + 438 made in that Australia vs South Africa ODI at Wanderers in Johannesburg. That match is called "greatest ODI ever" because Australia crossed a 400 mark for the first time. Proteas came back to chase it down with 438. Thus the highest ever combined ODI score.

For 20:20 or Twenty20 as it better known as, the highest score has been 221 by Australia. Highest match total has been exactly 400, in a Australia South Africa 2020 match in Johannesburg.

Unfortunately, no batsman has ever scored a century in twenty20 Internationals. 98 not out by ricky Ponting is the highest.

For 25:25 matches you were talking about, never heard of them. But I'm as we go further in this conversation - I'll find what you are looking for.

BTW, the Oregon Cricket league plays 25 over games. It may just be a 'thing' they do up there...
