GG Arnold picked up a four wicket haul for England against Australia in the 4th ODI ever - at Edgbaston. 1972. for a long time, and even today - 4 wicket haul in oneday cricket was considered good achievement.

Denise Lillee of Australia was the first bowler to take 5 wickets in a one day international - against Pakistan at Leeds in the first cricket world cup in 1975. his figures : 12-2-34-5 as Pakistan crashed down while chasing target of 279 from 60 overs.
